The Contour by Getty Images Portrait Prize

At Getty Images, we are keenly aware of the skill level and attention to detail which portraiture photography requires. To celebrate excellence in portraiture by emerging talent, we have launched the Contour by Getty Images Portrait Prize.

A distinguished panel of judges will determine the winner of the prize, which will be a grant of $10,000 USD, awarded to one photographer, with less than five years’ experience in the field, based on their existing portraiture work. Applicants must submit 10-20 images from their portrait work (either individual images or a series) along with a biography, brief explanation of their approach to portraiture, and description of what they would like to accomplish in their careers, (each in 1000 words or less).

Applications will be accepted beginning June 24 and the deadline will be August 5, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. GMT (London time). The winner will be announced in October 2015.
